In my opinion frozen bananas are great for making smoothies. When using frozen bananas you don’t have to worry about using ice cubes to make smoothie creamy. The frozen banana makes the smoothie thick and creamy.

You can easily find a bag of frozen banana in super markets. But Freezing banana at home is very easy. Take ripe bananas, peel off skin, cut into thick rounds. Place it in a baking sheet and place it into your freezer. Freeze overnight or preferably 6 to 8 hours.

Once frozen, collect the frozen banana and put it inside a freezer safe ziploc bag and keep frozen till use.

Sometimes I even freeze whole bananas with skins on. It is quite easy to peel off the skins from the banana when frozen. You can use frozen bananas in smoothies, thaw and use in baking as well.
